UIL 5A Girls All-State Cross Country Teams

UIL 5A Girls All-State Third Team

Not many in Texas were aware of Harris until it was too late. The Coronado freshman got better as the year progressed. She started out just under 21 minutes for 5K and ended the season with four consecutive sub 19 minute races and with a 18:37 PR. She won her district, was third at Region 1-5A and finished 15th at the state met.

20 Ava Sieckmann (Georgetown)

Sieckmann ran four 18 mid 5Ks this season. The sophomore PRed in 18:34 at the McNeil Inv. and then finished 14th at the state meet.

19 Sara Cavey (Dallas Highland Park)

Cavey competed at the highest level meets that a UIL 5A runner could have this year. That results in five sub 19 minute 5Ks for the junior. She won her district, was eighth at Region 2-5A, and was 19th at state.

18 Emma Little (Montgomery Lake Creek)

The Lake Creek senior finished the season with two sub 19 minute 5Ks. She won three races this season including Region 3-5A and she finished the year 17th at the state meet. Little committed to Texas A&M.

17 Peyton Benson (Lucas Lovejoy)

Benson became a huge championship piece for Lovejoy. Their state title was possible due to the production of the sophomore. She improved throughout the season and ran four sub 19 minute 5Ks. Her 18:36 PR at the state meet resulted in her 13th place finish giving the Lady Leopards four runners in the top 13 spots.

16 Erin O'Brien (Frisco Memorial)

The Frisco Memorial senior didn't have the end of season a typical all-state selection would have. She ran over 20 minutes at district and over 21 minutes at Region 2-5A, which eliminated her from qualifying for the state meet. However, when O'Brien was healthy and things were going right, she was one of the best runners in the state. The Oklahoma commit ran 11:35 for two miles in her first race of the season and then ran 18:16 at the Plano ISD Inv. She followed that up with a 18:12 PR at the Southlake Carroll XC Inv for ninth place overall. O'Brien would run five sub 19 minute 5Ks before the championship season.

15 Trinity Warnicke (San Antonio Alamo Heights)

The San Antonio Heights junior ran three sub 19 minute 5Ks this season. Warnicke finished eighth at Region 4-5A and 20th at the state meet.
