UIL 5A Girls All-State Second Team

14 Sara Morefield (Lucas Lovejoy)

The Lovejoy sophomore came up huge this year and her running contributed to the team's first state championship for the girl's program. Morefield ran six sub 19 minute 5Ks with her 18:09 PR coming at the MileSplit TX XC Inv. She was fourth at Region 2-5A and 12th at state.

13 Kate Ginther (Dripping Springs)

Ginther was solid her entire career at Dripping Springs and even more so this season specifically. Her tough district competition sharpened her and as the postseason came she got better. Ginther finished 12th at district, 11th at Region 4-5A, and continued to get better as she saved her best race for last. That race was a PR in 18:15 at the state meet.

12 Danielle Salinas (Sharyland)

Salinas was expected to be one of the Rio Grande Valley's top runners again this season and she delivered. She had four wins this season and top seven finishes at every big race leading up to her 18th place finish at state. She ran five sub 19 minute races and won district and was fourth at Region 4-5A.

11 Kate Williams (Boerne Champion)

The Boerne Champion senior ran three sub 19 minute 5Ks this year. She competed in big races all season long and was 12th at McNeil, seventh at Region 4-5A, and finished the season on the podium with a 18:16 and night place at state.

10 Karsten Bobb (Dripping Springs)

Bobb had five times 18:30 or faster this year. She PRed at 18:21 at McNeil and was runner-up at district, sixth at Region 4-5A, and 10th at the state meet. She finished with a postseason run and finish in 22nd at the Team Championship South Region.

9 Anastacia Gonzales (Boerne Champion)

Gonzales is the first of three straight 800m/1,600m runners on the team who once again proved their abilities on the cross country scene. The Arkansas commit was a high level performer all season long with her 11th place finish at state being her only placement outside of the top 10. Gonzales won her district, was third at Region 4-5A, had a 17:54 SB.

8 Kailey LIttlefield (Lucas Lovejoy)

Littlefield cemented herself as a dangerous runner last spring on the track with elite times in the 400m, 800m, and 1,600m. She reminded us this fall that she is also a talented harrier. She improved as the season progressed time wise and was runner-up at her district and Region 2-5A before her second straight season on the podium at the state meet.
