The Texas girls brought the noise to the RunningLane Cross Country National Championships over the weekend.
Flower Mound senior Natalie Cook not only won her first national championship, but she did it in spectacular fashion. Cook's 16:03.93 performance was the all-time US No. 2 performance for the 5,000m distance.
Along with the national championship run by Cook, the UIL 5A state champion Cameron McConnell (Canyon Randall) ran sub 17:00 with her 16:50 )PR and there were a total of 16 Texas girls to run 18:00 and under.
