The dynamic 1-2 punch of Autumn Wilson and Hali Murphy of St. Dominic Savio begins its senior season in another week or two. Their quest to remain atop the TAPPS leaderboard in the 100, 200 and 400 drives the duo, yet other meets like Nike Indoors and Brooks PR also have their attention.
The University of Georgia signees not only own TAPPS 6A times, but Hali claims the all-time TAPPS 400 time: 55.09. Currently recovering ahead of schedule from a hamstring injury, she'll be ready to compete within the next two weeks.
Autumn, on the other hand, has lowered her indoor 60 to 7.26, comparable to her future UGA teammates. She had an admirable finish amongst collegiate and professional runners at the American Track League meet.
Autumn and Hali have provided Texas track & field fans a medals stand worth of memories in their first three years of competition. It's rare we get to witness teammates so dominant in the short sprints together. If you get the opportunity to watch them run this season, take advantage of the grace and beauty of sprinting excellence.
