Macklynn Land signed to compete in track and field at Texas Tech University and then ran 23.87 and 54.80 PRs at the Region 1-2 Championships.
All of that came after the senior's first three years of high school track at Panhandle High School. Land won the UIL 2A state championship in the 400m as a freshman. After COVID shut down the 2020 season her sophomore year, Land returned to state last year and won the 400m again, was runner-up in the 200m, and led Panhandle to the 2A team title.
Land is now looking to win her third state championship and add the 200m win along with it. She would also like to help her team win a back-to-back championship.
