Guthrie senior Brandon Passmann has come a long way from when he entered high school and started running. The days of 20 minute 5Ks in cross country and 11 minutes in the 3200m, 5:14 in the 1,600m, and 2:15 in the 800m seem so far away.
Actually, it was actually last year when Passmann dropped 2 minutes in the 3,200m to run 9:16.59 to win the UIL 1A state title and setting a UIL 1A conference record. He continued to press forward earning the UIL 1A cross country state title last fall and committed to the University of Alabama to compete in college beginning next fall.
Passmann talked with MileSplit about his journey from one of the masses to record holder and having an opportunity to compete for the distance triple crown with weekend as he will compete in the 1,600m and 3,200m once again.
