Aksel Richard is one of many young men from the state of Texas who compete in both football and track and field. Primarily, they're football players first and then track and field second.
Football season ended for the Klein senior back in November, but he still came out for track despite his high school football career being over and having already signed to compete at the Colorado School of Mines on the gridiron.
Aksel knew competing in track and field would improve his wide receiver skills on the football field. What he wasn't sure of was that he'd make it to the UIL State Track and Field Championships.
Well, he did and this weekend will be his final moments competing for Klein High School. He shares his outlook on this season and his plans for the UIL 6A state triple jump competition.
