Thomas Kubala Overcomes Adversity To Qualify For State

- - -

Klein junior Thomas Kubala has had an interesting junior year; he lost time during cross country due to academic situations. That didn't deter the distance runner. He got back to work and got his studies in order and kept plugging away at his training.

Now, despite the adversity, he is on his way to Austin next weekend to compete at the UIL 6A Track and Field State Championships. He qualified to compete in the 3,200m with his runner-up finish at the Region 2-6A Championships.

He talked to MileSplit about his training, mentality, and defeating adversity.
