Isaiah Billingsley is switching everything up. He is at a fairly new school that he has only been at about a year, but he is also competing in a new event --or two.
A cross country state champion and last year's 1,600m state champ is changing the script even more than it has already been amended. Instead of the 3,200m where he was runner-up last year, he will instead compete in the 400m and the 800m to go along with trying to defend his 1,600m title.
He played basketball this year and his Tilden McMullen squad went deep into the playoffs, causing him to get a later start and less training for optimal fitness for a 3,200m state meet appearance.
He talked to us about his new school and atmosphere as well as his new events.
