Houston St. John's runners compete at the 2022 Maverick Ramble

Last month, the Houston St. John's Maverick Ramble was a preview of the SPC Championships. Many teams from the Southwest Preparatory Conference will double back to Spring Creek Park this Saturday for the conference championships.
With the dress rehearsal in the rear view mirror, we expect coaches and athletes to make adjustments to give their best efforts.
In that group are the girls and boys from St. John's. While they are the hosts, there is no home course advantage. St. John's is firmly nestled in the heart of Houston, and the course is 45 minutes or more from campus. The runners know they'll have to bring as much of their A-game as everyone else.
Boys head coach Richie Mercado and Rachel Fabre, girls head coach have their teams prepared to compete this weekend. The two squads joined us for a chat preceding the SPC Championships.
