We have already seen the 2023 indoor track and field season get started. However, this weekend, the fire spreads throughout the entire state. With the Carl Lewis Invitational in Houston and the Arkansas High School Invitational in Fayetteville, the majority of the state will be competing.
We are used to the overall participation a week earlier, but with the Texas A&M facility being built, the action has been pushed back to the second weekend in the state.
This is a boys 800m check in. We have already seen the reigning defending UIL 3A state champion Chase Lehr from Breckenridge get things started with a 1:57.41 in December at the FasTrak Coach O Youth and High School Opener. He added a 2:02 at LSU last weekend. Now the rest of the state will begin to get their chance to take a shot at the event and try to hit the rankings.
