2025 UIL 4A Girls 4x200 Relay
It was supposed to be a race between Brownwood, Stafford and Huffman Hargrave and through one lap of the 4A Girls 4x200m relay that is how the places stood.
However, the second lap changed everything. Brownwood appeared to have a solid lead going into the final exchange, but Chapel Hill's R'Niyah Tomlinson Chapel had other ideas. Tomlinson ran a phenomenal anchor leg from Lane 2 and was able to catch and pass Brownwood with about 50m remaining. Chapel Hill ran to a State Meet record time of 1:38.47.
Brownwood held on for second place with a time of 1:39.73 which was better than their results at the Regional meet.
The race for third place also came down to a fantastic anchor leg. This time it was Bandera's Kinlee Lawlis who ran down a couple of teams from out in Lane 7 to get her team on the podium in 1:39.95.
