The 2025 UIL 4A Boys 200-Meter Dash was more than just a sprint-it was the crowning moment of a championship double for Swayde Griffin (Lago Vista), who had already captured the 110-meter hurdles title earlier in the day. With a blistering 20.91 earlier in the season at the District 25 meet, Griffin was the only finalist to have broken 21 seconds this year and came in as the favorite. But the win wouldn't come easy.

Griffin looked strong out of the blocks and held his form well through the curve, but there were signs of fatigue from his earlier race. As the field entered the final stretch, Camrin Jackson (Dallas Kimball), running in lane nine, surged up to challenge, and Chad Ward (Lindale) wasn't far behind either. For a moment, it looked like Griffin might lose the lead, but the senior champion dug deep in the final meters, calling on every ounce of strength to edge out Jackson at the line.
