Nocona's Graci Brown Runs Back To Top Of UIL 2A Girls 400m

2025 UIL 2A Girls 400m

As a sophomore, Graci Brown (Nocona) won the UIL 2A girls 400m title in 2023, but 2024 was a different story as she finished in fifth place.

Brown got her redemption in 2025 by taking back the State title with a dominating run of 57.33. The top seven runners all broke a minute to show the talent and depth of the event.

Anna Pearcy (Hamilton) and Kaylee Hunt (Hico) both entered the race with season best times under 59 seconds and figured to push Brown. Pearcy ended up in sixth place in 59.70, one place ahead of her finish from last year. Hunt was in the hunt most of the way and grabbed the silver medal in 58.51.

In a bit of a surprise, Taylor Stewart (Timpson) ran nearly 1.5 seconds faster than her season best and took home the bronze medal when she crossed the line in 59.03.
