UIL 2A Girls 200m
In any race, it is not how you start, but rather how you finish. It was never more evident than in the UIL 3A girls' 200m. Carly Land (Panhandle) beat everyone out of the blocks and had the lead for the first half of the race, but Zanoviah Coleman's (Chilton) top-end speed proved to be too much to handle as she won in 24.66.
As Coleman accelerated away, Land tried to hold her spot in second place but broke stride, which allowed Morgan Hardman (Cisco) and Omeira Bearss (Whitewright) to pass her at the finish line. Hardman's time was 24.94, while Bearss finished in 25.02 and Land in 25.04.
