Shot Put (2015-2016 National Leader Boards)

Adrian Piperi is going to be the guy to beat in the shot put. Last summer he was the World Youth Champion (5KG Shot) and the UIL State Champion. His throw of 61-0 was the best throw in the state last year, it's also his indoor PR. Steven Daboub will also be another name to watch, he took 4th at the meet last year with a throw of
51-11.

Other Names To Watch

Brent Cowell (Magnolia West)

Austin Railsback will be the man to beat having jumped a PR of 6'10". He was the 3rd place finisher last year in class 4A. Other than Railsback the field is opened for anyone to make the podium.

Jalen Seals

Triple Jump (2015-2016 National Leader Boards)

We're going to combine these two because many are the top individuals to watch are in both. Ethan Toy and Jalen Seals are the top long jump returners based on 2015 marks. The two were actually first and second in the state in the long jump with marks of 23-1 (Toy) and 22-7.5 (Seals). In the triple jump, Seals takes over the top spot followed by Angelo Gordon from Converse Judson. Gordon won the triple jump last year with his jump of 47-02. The two both jumped over 47 last year. Seals was only a sophomore last year so look for him to do some big things this year as he starts his junior season.

Other Names To Watch

Cj Romero (Odem) 6th last year in LJ

Ciro Hernandez (PSJA North) 11th last year in LJ

Riley Richards has already vaulted 16-4 this year to win the Pole Vault Explosion VII. The junior holds an outdoor PR of 16-6. He looks to be setting himself up for a big season.
