Moment No. 1: The Texas Running Community
This has been my second full season as the Texas Webmaster, this year again I have so many people to thank for helping me make it through. So below is a big thank you to everyone who helps make covering the sport so amazing. Texas Track and cross country fans are like none other and really have and continue to blow my mind with the passion, hard work and dedication they bring to the sport.
The Athletes, Coaches, and Parents
Athletes, without you MileSplit would not be possible. Thank you for competing in the great sports of cross country and track and field. You work hard tireless hours to run and compete in the sport and we're glad we have the chance to showcase your hard work. Thank you to the coaches for putting all the hours in at practice and being there for the athletes, helping to guide them to their goals and dreams. Thank you to the parents who come to the meets to watch their children compete, and for bringing them to and from practice. We know how much hard work and dedication you all put into the sport and it makes covering it more fun.
Keller was one of the many teams we got to catch up and shoot a Workout Wednesday with this season.
Meet Directors, Timers, and Officials
It's tough to make sure a meet runs smoothly! It's always awesome to show up to a cross country or track meet and have meet directors who are helpful and want you to be at the event. We love covering the sport and helping it grow. It's great being able to work with timers who are helping to make sure results are up quickly and accurately. Thank you to the officials who make sure that the meets are running fairly and the rules are being followed.
Photographers, Videographers, and Freelancers
Without these people, MileSplit would not have the great content it does. These contributors work hard every weekend, taking pictures, getting race videos and interviews helping to provide the coverage and recognition the sport deserves.
