Krianne McBride (Texas Thunder) 13 year old Girls 1500m and 3000m. Was 2017 AAU 12 year old National champion in 3,000m with national record 10:11.30 and was second in 1500m.
Alejandro Urista (Unattached Lake Travis HS) Men's 17-18 2000S - Finished 8th last year in the 2K steeple at the AAU Junior Olympics. 6:50.38 is his best time. Joshua Pikoff (Unattached Austin Vandegrift HS) will give him a challenge he's run 6:37.41 in the 2K steeple. He was 7th at the AAU Junior Olympic Games in 2017. The two were only separated by one second.
The 400H will be quite a race with San Antonio Blazers' Xavier Howard and Cale Kassen. Kassen of Valley View has been one of the nation's hottest athletes in several events. The big kid from a small school is making his name know. His talent has really taken off in both hurdle events and the high jump and we'll just have to look and see how far he goes this summer.
One team to look out for are the Leander Spartans 400m squad. Their 15-16 year old girls expect to have a big time season. They have three to four girls who can run 57s or faster. Keep an eye out for their relays as well.
