Meet Preview: Each Clasification In Region 4

Region 4-1A

Girls Team Race Preview:

CCCAT Ranked Teams: No. 5 Tilden McMullen County and No. 9 Neches

Tilden McMullen County has turned into one of the top teams in Region 4-1A. Last year, they placed sixth overall at the state meet. They are again in the driver's seat for a state meet berth based on their region leading 12:57 team average this year.

McMullen Country is led by Isabella Billingsley (11:42) and Camie Taylor (12:38). The rest of their squad runs with about a 0.45 second spread.

Moulton has the second best two mile team average in the region with a 14:52. Impressively, their split is less than two-minutes, which is the smallest deviation in the region.

Favorites: Tilden McMullen County, Moulton, Lasara, Brookeland, Jonesboro

Teams To Watch: Round Top-Carmine, Goodrich

Girls Individual Race Preview:

Billingsley should be the overwhelming favorite in the race with teammate Taylor the closest to her. She ran 12:32 at the Hoka McNeil Inv. followed by 12:23, 12:00, and 12:22. Her season's fastest run was a 11:42 at the Patriot Inv.

There could be several more Tilden McMullen jerseys crossing the line with Ella David and Cassidy Slavinski. Ximena Ventura (Lasara) and Estefania Colchado (Moulton) could be low sticks for their teams and front runners individually.

Favorites: Isabella Billingsley, Camie Taylor, Ella David, Cassidy Slavinski, Ximena Ventura, Estafania Colchado

Sleepers: Grassie Ahnika, Summer Jacobs, Jaycee Rigsby

Boys Team Race Preview:

CCCAT Ranked Teams: No. 4 Tilden McMullen County and No. 5 Fayetteville

Despite having two ranked teams, the boys Region 4-1A race could be closer than some expect. Moulton, Tilden McMullen County, and Fayetteville placed fifth, sixth, and seventh last season at the state meet.

Moulton graduated three, TM County and Fayetteville both graduated one from their state meet lineups. Moulton just happened to lose their top runner, which hurts, but they are still in contention to get back to Round Rock.

Goodrich has a 18:48 team average this year.

Favorites: Tilden McMullen County, Fayetteville, Moulton, Goodrich

Teams To Lookout For: San Perlita, Medina, Lasara

Boys Individual Race Preview:

Jose Ventura (16:09) and Brandon Timms (16:54) are the only Region 4-1A boys who have dipped under seventeen-minutes.

Every run this year for Ventura has been sub seventeen as he's run with the 4A, 5A, and 6A boys in the valley all year long. They were both all-state runners last year with Ventura placing third and Timms tenth.

Cole Fenhaus (Fayetteville) finished eleventh at the state meet last year.

Favorites: Jose Ventura, Bandon Timms, Cole Fenhaus

Runners To Watch out For: Amareion Bookman, Max Stalker, Brayan Colchado, Rylan Mills
