Tank Tuesday: Area & Air Force

4/20/15-Monday

Workout: AM, 45min easy run. PM, 35min easy run.

Mileage: 11 miles

Mileage Monster day today, just logging in the miles and enjoying God's gift of running. It was a beautiful morning and Timmy and I had a Nooice little chat. I am incredibly blessed to have the community of Boerne and the faculty, staff, teachers, and coaches of Champion HS, love btx.

4/21/15-Tuesday

Workout: Off day

Mileage: 0 miles

Signing today to run for the United States Air Force Academy was a dream come true. Three years ago, one of my long term goals was to get a full ride to a D1 college for running and that came true. We also got our District Champion t-shirts and looked all Nooice and pretty for the newspaper picture. Love my teammates and am going to miss this all next year. In the same way, I'm so excited for next fall at the Air Force Academy. You have a really good XC team in the nation, a top tier academic program, and not to mention the great state of Colorado to run in.

4/22/15-Wednesday

Workout: 33min run

Mileage: 5 miles

We were only halfway to our Area meet when we found it got canceled so we popped a U and turned back. Ran on my own afterwards in my neighborhood running a 2.5mile loop my siblings and I all used to run as little kids. A lot of good memories right there. The Area meet schedule got changed so that all of the events will be run tomorrow.

4/23/15-Thursday

Workout: Area, 13min w/u, 3200-1st-9:36, 10min c/d. 10min w/u, 1600-1st-4:27, 10min c/d

Mileage: 10 miles

Nasty, humid, and sticky describes the entirety of today. Wanted to run with the least amount of effort while still getting in a quality day of running. Timmy also qualified in both events running 10:05 and 4:42 so we are on to the next week. Survive and advanced. As a team we ended placing 2nd by one point which was a bummer, but it was definitely not our best day as a whole.

4/24/15-Friday

Workout: 24min, 800-2:19, 20min

Mileage: 7 miles

Ran in the morning on our track warming up some with Garrett Richard who has been trying to break 2:20 in the 800 the entire season. He ran 2:20.0 at Districts so I promised I would help him break 2:20 today. We ran 68.9, 70.3 and he finally broke 2:20 so I'm proud of him! Finished up the day by running some more on the track and called it a good day.

4/25/15-Saturday

Workout: Off Day

Mileage: 0 miles

For some reason I took two days off this week. Probably the first time since December. I really was going to run, but right when I was about to walk out the door, I saw my dinner Nooice and hot just sitting there so I called an audible and switched the workout to tomorrow morning. No harm done and I enjoyed a delicious meal.

4/26/15-Sunday

Workout: Tempo

Mileage: 6 miles

Woke up early in the morning and immediately regretted not running yesterday evening. Started my run off and felt extremely sluggish to start off with and my breathing was no Bueno. Slogged through the workout and chalked it up as a terrible run, but glad to be done. Legs are a bit ugg today so I'll definitely take an ice bath this week.

Week Mileage: 38.5 miles

Week in Review: Moved a step closer to my goal and my hamstring is healed up all nicely. It's crazy to think that I potentially only have 4 more track races left in my high school era. The plan is four pr's and some goals at State before I leave so we'll see what God has in store for the final 3 weeks of my season. Coach Fulkerson said his last goal before he retires at the end of this season is to get me some hardware at the State meet. We're going to get that mission accomplished. Next stop: Regionals.

Tank out.
