Houston Langham Creek's Eric Edwards, just completed his junior year of high school in 2017, but oh boy was it a heck of a junior year. Edwards started the championship season by winning the 6A district, area, regional, and state titles. That was just a start as Edwards added the Junior USA title to his accomplishments. 

This June, Edwards set a junior class national record in the 110m hurdles, posting a time of 13.32 seconds at the USA track and field junior championships. He later competed at the Pan American Junior Championships in Peru, where he won a championship in 13.33 seconds (-0.6). 

Edwards also won his first UIL class 6A state championship in Texas and in the 100mH in a time of 13.39. He posted four times under 13.40 seconds over his junior season. 

He finished third in the 300m hurdles at the Great Southwest Classic, posting a PB and U.S. No. 2 time of 36.26. He was third at the state championships in the same event.
