Houston and Austin Teams Set To Battle At Region III Preview

The 2016 Region III Preview Boys Elite

Teams from both the Austin and Houston areas help make up Region III and they will converge on Huntsville for the Region III Preview.

This meet is an early season collection of Region III teams that gives them a view of the teams and the course that they'll have to tackle in late October.

Therefore, this weekend, some of the top runners in those areas will get to go heads up and see just where they currently stand against one another. The 5A and 6A classes will bring most of the competition that will include some top ranked teams and individuals.

That means we could end up seeing a girls top 25 battle team between Stratford, Tompkins, Kingwood, Cedar Park, and Cinco Ranch.

On the boys side, we could see #2 Kingwood let their complete top five loose for the first time this year over 5K. They would take on Tompkins, Cinco Ranch, Seven Lakes, and Cedar Park.

Another big team that has been known to make a big showing at the meet is The Woodlands. Both the girls and boys squads have attended in the recent past and the boys have been known to use this meet as their first meet running their full varsity squad. If that holds to form, we could get our first view of the Lady Highlanders since their strong showing at the Friday Night Lights and our first glimpse of the boys team.
