White Shoe? Black Shoe? What's The Story Kason O'Riley?

White shoe? Black shoe? What's the story Kason O'Reilly?

Watching his mom train his brothers on high jump, a 7 years old Kason O'Riley tried a jump (at mat level of course) and fell in love. At seven years old he wasn't winning meets, however as a sophomore he jumps in when the bar is raised to 6'. The difference: Alex Austin helped him change his approach making a huge difference.

As one of the top-ranking high jumpers in the State, Kason from Marble Falls high school encourages himself to work hard everyday with the goal in mind to be the best, not simply better than his brothers. And to be the best, "To practice I work on my run up and form, I watch film with my coaches to make sure I'm executing correctly.  Before I start my jump, I visualize my run up and jump and then I execute." Box hops, calf raises and sprints workouts also to maintain and better his fluid approach.

"I jumped higher than I ever had so as you know track athletes are superstitious, so he said keep them and I've kept using them ever since. Lol "

What are your goals? "My goal is to win State and to keep breaking my personal records. I aspire to have a great career in Athletics and possibly be a coach one day. I would love to represent my country in the 2024 Olympics in Paris. That would be incredible!! I hope to be a great athlete, a great teammate, and most of all a great person."

Outside of UIL track and field, 6'5" Kason O'Riley shoots hoop for Marble Falls and AAU. He studies hard in school; science geek. Off the court and track, he laughs and jokes with his older brothers Zack and Ethan. Humor is a major part of their lives a trait they get from their mom and dad. His biggest supporters are definitely his family and his teammates."

White shoe? Black shoe? What's the story Kason? "Alex Austin had given them to me to use at practice at the So High facility because I had left mine at home. I jumped higher than I ever had so as you know track athletes are superstitious, so he said keep them and I've kept using them ever since. Lol "

Kason O'Riley, "I want to say a special thanks to Charles, Alex, and Cameron Austin for helping me become the jumper I am today. A special thanks goes out to my mom for teaching me the technical aspects of high jumping and my dad for helping me get mentally prepared.  Last but not least, I want to say thanks to my Marble Falls Coaches. Mr. & Mrs. Powers, Coach Johnson and my Marbles Falls track teammates".
