6A Girls 4x200m Relay
Klein Forest came away with the first relay and their second leg had a good carry as well, but San Antonio Reagan's second leg ran slightly better.
On the inside, it was DeSoto tearing up the third leg and had the lead on the final exchange. The battle was for second as four teams hit the straightaway simultaneously. DeSoto's anchor leg proved to be too much and put on a good performance for her team.
DeSoto won the gold in commanding fashion with a time of 1:36.69, while Fort Bend Bush finished with a time of 1:37.69 for the silver, and Alvin Shadow Creek claimed the bronze with a time of 1:37.91.

In the girl's 4x400 relay, it was a shock to some that Rockwall was out in the lead after the first exchange. However, they showed at the Region 2-6A championships they were the real deal. The led through the first two legs, but were over come half way through the third leg.
Katy Seven Lakes took the lead and then DeSoto took the lead from them heading into the final exchange.
However, the race was far from over. With the girl's 400m runner-up on the anchor, Seven Lakes literally saved their best for last. Haley Tate came off the top of the final curve wide and swung passed DeSoto and powered to the finish, giving her team the 3:44.23 win over DeSoto's 3:45.06 in second place.
The 400m champion, Kennedy Wade powered Clear Falls home for the third place finish.
