Many of the Rio Grande Valley runners got their 2021 season kicked off this weekend with meets at RGC Invitational and the McAllen High School Bulldog Inv.
With the season now underway there will be some serious running coming up after the preseason work is out of the way. We'll then begin to see who the top runners in the area will be for 2021.
On the girl's side, Danielle Salinas should once again be one of the area's top stars. She'll have Dianette Garcia (Edinburg Economedes), Patricia Galligan and Sabrina Garza (McAllen), Sofia Ramirez (Brownsville Veterans Memorial), Aliyah Fonseca (Harlingen South), and her Sharyland teammate Daylah Vega to compete with.
The boy's side could see a lot of state level challengers for the top spot down south. Kevin Hernandez (Donna) was one of the top finishers at last year'...
