2021 UIL 2A girls state cross country championships

Kyla Kane is one heck of an athlete and she has had one heck of a run while at Wellington.

The three sport star just finished her senior cross country season as one of the most decorated harriers in the state. On Saturday, she won her third UIL 2A cross country individual championship and second straight. As a freshman, she won the first before finishing second as a sophomore.

Championship number three was never in doubt as she led the race from start to finish. Kane powered home to finish in 12:17 for the win.

Freshman girls followed Kane's placement in second through fifth. Isabella Jaime (Farwell) was second with a time of 12:50, Presley Polk (Christoval) was third in 13:01, Avery Cathey (Panhandle) was fourth and Madyson George (Christoval) was fifth with a time of 13:05.
