We have already seen some impressive distance performances. Yesterday, Isabel Conde De Frankenberg (Cedar Park) ran 2:10.91 in the girl's 800m and Chris Riley (Austin McCallum) ran 4:10.09 in the boy's 1,600m.
Tomorrow will be another full day of distance action across the state. The Lucas Lovejoy Spring Distance Festival gets started at 3:00 p.m. in the Dallas area at Lovejoy High School. The meet will feature the 2,000m steeplechase, the 800m, the 1,600m, and the 3,200m distance.
The Vandegrift Viper Distance Festival begins at 5:00 p.m. at Austin Vandegrift High School; they will also feature the 800m, 1,600m, and the 3,200m distances. If yesterday was any indication of what is in store, then the races at Vandegrift could be very explosive.
