With the fastest qualifying time, Isaiah Billingsley (Tilden McMullen) knew what he had to do to win the boys 800 meter run. The Auburn commit has excelled in several events during his career and had no plans of stopping.
Billingsley took command of the race early on. The moment the gun went off, the senior made his way to the front of the pack. Halfway through, the field hit the 400 meter mark with a time of 55 seconds.
In the second lap, things started separating out as runners were fighting for the second and third places. Billingsley took the victory with a time of 1:55.62. Sophomore Christian Gonzales of Sulphur Bluff took the second spot with a time of 1:58.12 following a strong final lap.
Jake Ozymy (Avalon) took the third and final spot with a time of 2:00.40.
