Alli Scott Wins 100H And Camdyn Childs Sets New 300H Record

100 meter hurdles

Returning champ Makenna Byrd from Wildorado is the early favorite today. Her winning time last year was 15.26. Immediately we were caught by surprise as Alli Scott from Moran had excellent blockwork and was able to hit the hurdles first. That gave her the advantage early on to hold off the onslaught brought on by Byrd. Not too far behind Makenna was Rianne Hurst from Priddy.

First place was 15.73, second was 15.88, and third place's time was 15.96.

All impressive performances today with the top two coming from juniors. We anticipate another battle in the 2023 Track season.

300 meter hurdles

The fastest qualifying time coming into today was from Alli Scott a Junior from Moran with a time of 47.52.

They had a clean start and all girls were making quick time of the hurdles. No one had a clear lead but then coming down the back stretch with two hurdles to go Camdyn Childs a Junior from Barksdale Nueces Canyon was running away with the race but Scott and Sydnie Bond a Senior from Cherokee had something to say about that and almost caught her at the finish line.

Childs captured the gold with a time of 46.08, Scott received the silver with a time of 46.31, and Bond was your bronze medalist with a time of 46.36.

All three of the top times were under the conference 3A record.
