Isabella Edwards leads in the 2022 Texas Homeschool Cross Country Championships varsity girls race
Isabella Edwards finished second at the 2021, but in these 2022 Texas Homeschool Cross Country State Championships, she wasn't about to let the win slip through her hands.
The 2022 season hasn't gone the way the Texas Independent Homeschool senior would have planned it to go, but the state meet kind of did. She hadn't competed much this season, but she did train and stay fit enough to follow through with the end plan of winning the state meet.
Edwards ran a 19:04 to get the win by nearly 40 second over the second place finisher. Not taking anything for granted, she took the bull by the horns and controlled the race from the onset. It was Isabella's first cross country state title, but it is the second for the Edwards' house hold. Older brother Immanuel Edwards won the boys title in 2020.
It was another win for the San Antonio Home School Spartans. With only three teams scoring, it was bound to be close and things could go wrong very easily for the defending champions. Nevertheless, the team was able to win their third consecutive Homeschool state title.
