The RGV area has been booming with distance running talent over the last several years, but they've also had their share of sprinters come through with the likes of Jose Garcia and the rest of his Harlingen crew.
The next best sprinter once again hails from Harlingen and she is already making waves in the state with her times from the early outdoor season.
Junior, Faith Franklin is having a great start to the 2023 track and field season. The former gymnast and short sprinter has added the 400m to her arsenal and it is proving to be a wise decision. After only running the event once last year, she has already improved by running two races in the 55 second range.
That led to her being entered in our Girls Performer of the Week poll and she won. Listen to our interview with Franklin as she dishes on her decision to add the longer sprint event.
