Angel Sanchez (Fort Worth Diamond Hill-Jarvis) was a Champs National Cross Country Championships finalist last year. He ran three sub 15-minute 5,000m races last season and earned national level attention. He has won a UIL 4A state championship in the 1600m as well as last fall's 4A cross country season.
Prior to his running success, Sanchez' motivation came from wanted to run faster in the 1600m than his older sister when he was just in the 7th grade. His older brother saw his potential and put Sanchez into a running camp and found him a private coach. That would be the catapult his his running career needed.
After a personally challenging season where Sanchez went through a set of injuries, he will make a return for his senior year. His goals are to run fast and improve on his national level running.
