Margaret Thompson: From Hockaday to Mars
While many of us feel this way about the intricacies of astrophysics, this is a potential career path for Hockaday distance star Margaret Thompson. A Princeton commit and the state of Texas' all-time leader in the 2K Steeple, Thompson heads into her senior season with six gold medals and the possibility of hoisting the SPC 4A state championship trophy for a second consecutive season. (Hockaday also won the team title in 2022 prior to splitting into 3A and 4A last season.)
A willing volunteer on a future mission to Mars, Thompson has unfinished business on Earth first, including finishing her SPC swimming season strong and helping to christen Hockaday's brand new track and field facility - and yes, it has a steeplechase.
