Adam Spiegleman, Refugio boys Head Track and Field Coach
The Refugio boys track and field are no strangers to winning UIL State Track and Field Championships as a team. They have the most in UIL history with their collection, which now tallies 12 wins after the 2024 UIL 2A win.
Coach Spiegleman managed to navigate the championship season by getting the most out of his squad this year. There were events they could have easily added points to the team tally, but he was calculative and strategic.
Spiegleman didn't have Ernest Campbell, the defending 200m state champion in the event and they didn't have the UIL 2A record holding 4x200 relay team from last year entered.
He talked to MileSplit following the completion of the UIL 2A state championships.
