2025 UIL 6a Girls 4x200 Relay
The 2025 UIL Girls 6A 4x200-meter relay was one of the most anticipated races of the meet, and it lived up to the hype with a thrilling finish and blistering times. Alvin Shadow Creek, coming in with one of the fastest times in Texas history as well as all-time in the US, delivered a sensational performance to capture the state title in 1:33.71, one of the fastest marks ever seen at the UIL Championships. Running out of lane 8, Shadow Creek's quartet of Skylar Moody, Trinity Fruge, Jaden Small, and McKenzi Roberson quickly erased the stagger and surged ahead by the second exchange, setting the tone for the rest of the race.
Duncanville, the defending state champions, refused to back down. With Reaghan Evans, Kennedy Jackson-Myles, Kristian Coleman, and Sanyah Keeton, they kept the pressure on throughout, especially on the anchor leg, where they closed hard down the homestretch. But Shadow Creek's Roberson was electric on the anchor, holding off Duncanville's late charge to secure the victory, with Duncanville settling for second in a superb 1:34.04.
Dickinson, featuring J'Nesis James, Dalaney Pope, Anaya Jones, and Riley McKinney, ran an excellent race as well, mounting a strong challenge and grabbing the third podium spot with a time of 1:35.21. Allen finished fourth, while Klein Oak, fresh off a big regional upset, rounded out the top five. Humble Atascocita, despite having the second-fastest all-time mark entering the meet, struggled with a shaky handoff and couldn't recover, finishing eighth. This was a race marked by elite speed, sharp exchanges, and fierce competition that had the crowd on its feet from start to finish.
