Driscoll And Viegra Dominate At Cedar Park Invitational

Boys Race
- In the boys race we saw another impressive performance from Daniel Viegra. Viegra took the race from the gun and never looked back covering the 5k course in 15:58. The next closest person behind him was Corpus Christi King's Parker Scott who ran 16:11 to take 2nd. The team battle was won by Georgetown High scoring 121 points. The surprise 2nd place team was 3A Luling. The Luling guys scored 137 and had only a 1:17 1-5 gap.
Girls Race
- Round Rock's Ashley Driscoll won the girls race running 18:32. The senior finished 2nd last week too Paige Hofstad at the St. Andrews Episcopal XC Invitational, but came back strong this week. The next closest runner to her was Marissa Flournoy from Austin Bowie who covered the course in 18:50. Flournoy helped lead her team to the team victory in a tight battle against the girls from Dripping Springs. Bowie scored 72 points to win while Dripping Springs had 83 to take 2nd.
