Analysis: Casarez comes in as the #7 returner with his 15:11.48 from McNeil. His 15:27.89 5K PR solidifies him in our top ten. Casarez was definitely in a runner's groove at the end of the 2016 cross season. Beginning with the McNeil race, he rattled off six straight sub 16 minute races culminating with at 14th place finish at the UIL 6A state meet and 20th at the NXN South Regional race. Casarez started to come into his own in the track season. He ran mid four twenty in three 1 mile races with his 4:23.45 PR during the indoor season. Outdoors, he dropped a 4:20.46 1600m, and 9:18.70 3200m. No doubt about it, Casarez has the wheels to really put down some fast 5Ks this season and the 6A crown very well could find it's way to Keller Central.
