2A Boys Sprint Relay Recap: Timpson, Shiner, and Refugio Win

 2A Boys 4x100

Timpson boys ran a 42.16 to win the 2A boys 4x100 meter relay. The race got off to a quick start as Mart led the way through the first two handoffs. They were quickly followed by Timpson and eventually passed during the final two legs. Timpson's anchor Dajuan Tutt finished the leg strong to give them the lead and the win.

Mart was able to hold onto the second place position with a time of 42.16 despite running in an outside lane. Post finished in third with a time of 42.55.

  2A Boys 4x200

Despite being overshadowed most of the race, Shiner made a late surge to capture the victory in the Boys 4x200 with a time of 1:28.29. The first three quarters of the race featured a highly contested battle between Mart and Post as they were fighting for the lead. It wasn't until the final hand-off that Shiner took the lead. Mart took second with a time of 1:28.67, while Post finished third with a time of 1:28.95.

                                                                   

2A Boys 4x400

The 2A Boys 4x400 had about five different lead changes in the final leg. The top six teams finished within a second of each other. Post lead all the way till the final straight away. In the midst of all the madness, Refugio would find themselves winning with a time of 3:25.88. Refugio's anchor leg, Isaiah Avery, ran a split of 48.76 to give them the gold.

Right behind Refugio was Centerville, who finished with a time of 3:26.25. Centerville's anchor leg, Kasen Jeitz, recorded the fastest split of the race with a time of 48.32. New Deal rounded out the podium with a third place finish and a time of 3:26.26.
