UIL 6A Boys All-State Third Team

  1. 21. Adrian Hahn Vadstein (Katy Cinco Ranch)

One of many juniors to make our all-state lists, Hahn Vadstein had a solid season and came up big in many of the Houston strong invitationals. He really brought things home in a strong way with his fourth place finish at Region 3-6A with a time of 15:44 and then 19th at the state meet in a 15:39 PR.

  1. 20. Geovany Cisneros (Harlingen)

Cisneros qualified for a return trip to the state meet this year and his first as an individual qualifier. That shows how much of a force he was in the southern part of the state as well as state wide. This season, we saw him start out at 15:25 and run under 16:00 on several occasions. His biggest races were at McNeil and district prior to running to a 16th place finish at the state meet.

  1. 19. Pablo Lesarri (The Woodlands)

Entering the season, Lesarri was a consistent 15:50 guy as a sophomore. He showed he is a swiss army knife kind of guy during the track season with his PRs of 1:57, 4:15, and 9:31 last season. He was again consistent this cross season running sub 16 all year long with a strong state meet showing in 15th place with a 15:33 PR to help lead the Highlanders to a runner-up team finish.

  1. 18. Oliver Maldonado (Atascocita)

Maldonado was a promising freshman who turned into a solid contributor sophomore cross country season. Track 2021 showed that he was a thoroughbred in training, which led to this cross country season. Maldonado went from running 15:56 in three miles last year to only running two 5Ks over 16:00 this year. He PRed at RunningLane Cross Country Nationals in 15:15; Coach Todd Symons could have a future state champion in his hands.

  1. 17. Bryan Mileski (Tomball)

In terms of development, Mileski perhaps had one of the biggest and most consistently improved seasons in the state. As a junior, he had three sub 16 minute races 5K races and two of the course distances are questionable. However, this season, it didn't matter whether long or short for Mileski, he only had two races this year that weren't under 16 minutes. He was 13th at the state meet in a 15:30 PR.

  1. 16. Robert Freeman (Southlake Carroll)

Freeman was an important part to Carroll's second consecutive team title. He ran a 15:32 PR this year and was 12th at Region 1-6A and 22nd at the state meet and followed up with an impressive season ending race at RunningLane Cross Country Nationals.

He won district and was eighth at Region 1-6A; then the Carroll junior contributed to another state title with his 18th place finish. In the postseason, he was ninth at the Team Nationals South Region and then ran a 15:06 PR at RunningLane Cross Country Nationals.
