What to Watch:
Ignore the seed times...lanes 1-7 could ALL be well under 37s in this race. Isaiah Lucas is a force in the 300H, and we could very easily see him and his Region 3 compatriot Caleb Richmond finish 1-2. But for that to happen they'll have to beat out a stacked field. Bryce Douglas has been on a hot streak leading up to State is is poised to run into the 36s. Cody Johnson put on a show at Regionals that shows he will be a contender, and Dewitt Thomas always finishes strong in the final 50m and could pull off the big upset.

We could potentially the 3 fastest times in the country come out of this girls race. Baynes & Duckett briefly held US #1 &2, and they will be looking for redemption. Baynes didn't have the race she wanted at Regionals and is ready to throw down at state. Running out of Lane 1 she'll have everyone in her sights and start picking them off one by one. Of course Alexis Duncan is in the mix after significantly improving her 300H times in the past two weeks. With Campbell's big race last week Region 3 could easily sweep the podium. Fowler and Tobias are both sleeper picks here, a bit overlooked by the bigger names in this race, but they are both poised to push a low 42 or 41 and depending on how the race plays out that could get you a medal.

What to Watch:
Who can challenge Norman Grimes? The junior has put together a huge year starting with the A&M indoor meet back in January. He took the title at Texas Relays and returns to UT as the man to beat. After nearly missing out on even making it to the Region finals, Garrett Moore came back to post the only sub-37s 5A 300H. He is dangerous at this distance and has the ability to push Grimes. Castillo is a past State Champion. He knows what it feels like to be on top of that podium and will fight to finish his HS career on top once again. Two juniors to keep an eye on who could surprise everyone; Medric Roberson has been dominant the past few weeks and will carry that confidence into State and look to make a statement. Sleeper pick out of lane 8, Jeremy Smith has been coming into his own towards the later stages of the season. He's a smooth runner with the talent to have a breakout race every time he comes out of the blocks.

It takes speed and talent to make it to the state meet regardless of the division you're running in, but in the case of the 5A 300H, there is one athlete head and shoulders above the rest. Sami Gonzalez is your US #1 for a good reason. She's held that spot for a crazy long time. With the loaded 6A race, Gonzalez could see her US #1 time fall. How far under 41s can she run on her own?

What to Watch:
Can Dillon Springfield put together two clean races to sweep the 4A hurdles? He'll have his work cut out for him in this senior dominated race. Everyone looking to finish their HS hurdle career as #1, this is an evenly matched field that could be decided by a lean.

Andrews could sweep the 300H with Ives running in the boys race, and then brining Oceana Ridge into the girls race as the top seed.

What to Watch:
Pettiet will return to the track after the 100H for a bigger challenge, both in terms of the competition and running out of lane 1. He'll be challenged by Zook and Wold who are both right on the edge of running sub-38s and running away with the race.

Robertson enters State with the fastest 3A 300H of 2015 at her Region meet. Clearly in good form, she'll have to outrun Cano, Jost, and Washington who have all been running 44s this season.

What to Watch:
Sam Wing ran a 39.15 at Regionals for the fastest 2A 300H time of the season. If he can push it down into the 38s it will be tough for anyone else to match that speed.

No one in this field other than Fangman and Brashers has run under 46s this season. Certainly the State Meet is the time to pull out a big performance, but they'll all be chasing the juniors out of lanes 4 and 8.
