Mile (2015-2016 National Leader Boards)
With last year's champion Andrew Tankersley now running for the Air Force Academy, this leaves the door wide open for someone else to take home the crown. One of the favorites would have to be Southlake Carroll's Reed Brown. Brown is coming off an impressive cross country season where he finished 5th at the state meet, won NXN South, and then ran lights out at both NXN (14th) and Foot Locker Nationals (16th). Last year he finished 2nd behind Tankersley by only a second, and holds an indoor mile PR of 4:27.23. Another runner who raced last year was Nic Butts. The Whitesboro senior was the 3A state cross country champion and will look to race strong again this year at A&M after his 4th place finish last year. Drew Cummings (5th), Charlie Gardner (14th) and, Justin Botello (17th) all ran last year and had great cross country seasons.
