Tuesday Training With Ryan Yerrow: 800's, Abs, Hills and The Falcon Invitational

Tuesday Traning With Ryan Yerrow Week 3

Monday 8/15- This morning our practice was cancelled because of bad weather so I got a pretty fast 6 miles in later in the day with some weights and abs at home.

Tuesday 8/16- This morning we had a long run, I went 12 miles a little faster than 6:20 pace.
This afternoon it was raining again so I got a good 4 miles in with some abs when I got back home.

Wednesday 8/17- We did a fartlek this morning. Once again it was pouring rain and it was really hard to see and my shoes got super heavy so that made it a little tougher. We had a 1.5-mile warmup and cool down, we went 123454321 and I made it almost 6 miles.
This afternoon I got in a fast 3 miles with weights and abs when I got back home.

Thursday 8/18- This morning we just had a nice 5.5-mile recovery run before our practice meet/ workout tomorrow morning.

Friday 8/19- Practice meet/ workout this morning! Called the Watermelon Relays basically, we got decorated watermelons as rewards. Us older guys did a 3x 1.5 workout, even though it was actually like a 1.56-mile loop. My times were 7:57, 7:52, and 7:59. My last one was a little interesting. I got a fish bone straight through the bottom of my spike and I was really surprised it did go straight through my heel! (You'll see the picture below)

Saturday 8/20- This morning we went to run hills again. I got in a really good and fast 12 miles, I felt really good until the last 2 miles I started to feel really heavy and sluggish.

Sunday 8/21- I got a 4.5-mile recovery run today. The 2 long runs and 2 workouts this week got me pretty sore.

Overall this was probably my best week of training this summer and I can't wait to see what this season has in store!

Total miles: 64
