Jess is another member of the class of 2021 that turned in an awesome freshman season. She hit the El Paso scene in the first week of the cross country season with a 19:06.74. From there, she would just get better as she won every meet that she competed in until she got to the Region 1-6A meet where she took fifth place. A week later at the UIL 6A state meet, she ran a 17:34.70 for another fifth place finish.
The track season was just as productive for Jess. She ran PRS 2:25.51, 5:06.21, and a 10:50.32 that earned her fifth place at the UIL 6A state track meet.
Jess' fitness was already on display as she won the USATF Junior Olympics last week in the 3,000m with a 11:18.36.
