MileSplit Boys PreSeason Top #20 - 25

23. Elias Perez (El Paso Eastwood)

Elias Perez backed up his strong sophomore season with another big time year in 2018. The El Paso Eastwood runner now enters his senior season possibly as confident as can be. He helped lead his team to a UIL 5A state championship and to the team's first ever Nike Cross Nationals appearance. Perez ran solid in each big meet against both the top state and national competition. The experience gained at meets like California's Woodbridge XC Classic, Arizona's Nike Desert Twilight, State, NXR South, and NXN makes Perez one of the most experienced runners in the state. He hit his stride during track season as he lowered his PRs big time ending the season with 4:24 and 9:22 as his top marks. Perez will enter the 2019 cross country season with PRs of 14:57 (3 miles) and 15:37 (5K), but 2019 could see those be history real quick.
