District 19-20 Area Championships boy's 4x100 Relay
Yesterday, the Katy Tompkins 4x100 relay squad continued their outstanding 2021 track and field season. Their area meet win qualified them for the Region III Track and Field Championships next week in Humble, Texas.
They ran 40.76 unofficially for the win, but that wasn't Tompkins first sub 41.0 this year. Previously, their season's best was 40.81 from the
Tompkins Classic on March 27th.
Tompkins is one of eight teams who have run sub 41 this season. The season lead time is 40.62 by Killeen Shoemaker; the push for the UIL 6A 4x100 relay state championship is wide open as Shoemaker is no longer competing through the remaining UIL rounds leading to the state meet because they did not qualify out of their district meet.
