In lane one, Ackerly Sands was the defending gold medalist from 2021.

Clean start, with Lane eight Hart making their presence known with the first exchange, Turkey Valley in lane four had the 2nd exchange, but don't sleep on Ackerly Sands as they were on the comeback trail hungry to repeat in the 4x200.

On the last leg with Turkey Valley was closing in fast hoping for the upset but Ackerly Sands said "not today" and finished with the gold medal defending their state championship from last year with a time of 1:47.16.

4x400m Relay

The fastest time coming into today's race was Ackerly Sands with a time of 4:12.07 which was just off their state winning time of 4:12.05 from last year's championship gold medal winning performance. Happy was coming in as the 4x400 1A runner up championship hoping for an upset.

Great start to the last race of the day for your 1A girls with a solid first lap and coming down the backstretch for the first exchange Blum hands off first with Neches right behind them, followed by Ackerly Sands.

Blum's second leg coming down the back stretch extended the lead followed by Ackerly Sands that was hot on their tail as they tried to make up ground wanting that back to back state title. Things turned quickly as they made the turn for the home stretch with Ackerly Sands overtaking Blum and getting the first exchange for their third leg.

Ackerly Sands continued to lead the way with Blum in second but look out, here comes Emily Berry from Happy making her move from sixth all the way to second place putting them back in the mix!

For the anchor leg exchange, Ackerly Sands led with Happy in silver medal contention and Blum rounding out your top three. Ackerly Sands continued their dominance looking strong in this final leg. With 200m to go Blum tried to push back into that second place spot but, Happy was having none of that.

At the finish line, Ackerly Sands solidified their gold medal win with a time of 4:11.05, with Happy maintaining their second place finish with a time of 4:13.64 and overtaking Blum at the finish Cross Plains crosses the line third to take the bronze medal with a time of 4:14.72.
