5 Distance Runners To Watch At FasTrack Athletix - Coach O

Kepler Huntress competes at the 2022 Texas Tech Under Armour HS Classic

Tiffany Mugubi (Shadow Creek) - 15-16 girls 400m and 800m - The Shadow Creek sophomore is coming off a 2:22 freshman year and will get her season started in the 400m and 800m.

Maggie Lowry (Fort Bend Stephen F Austin) - 17-18 girls 400m, 800m, 1,500 - Lowery gets her season started with a busy day on Sunday as she is entered in three events. Her 2:22 PR last year makes her one of the top 800m girls to watch in the 17-18 year old age group.

Devin Page (DeSoto) - 17-18 boys 400m, 800m, 1,500m - The DeSoto senior ended the year with a 1:56.15 PR in the 2022 track and field season. He'll get things started in his premiere event, but he'll also race in the 400m and the 1,500m. He ran a PR in the 5K this fall with a 17:22 and could post a PR in both of the longer events on Sunday.

Jacorric Allen (Wharton) -  17-18 boys 200m, 400m, and 800m - The sophomore looks to be getting a workout in this weekend as he is entered in three events. The UIL 4A fourth place finisher in the 400m could run both the 200m and 400m this weekend, but if he races the 800m, he could be ready to bring it. Allen was a 48.6 guy in the 400m, but he was also a 2:02 performer as he dabbled in the event.

Kepler Huntress (Austin LASA) - 17-18 boys 800m and 1500m - The 2022 UIL 5A 800m state champion gets his senior track season underway this weekend. The University of Michigan commit ran 1:59.69 last year at this event, but will give things a go in the 800m as well as the 1,500m this year.
