Adelynn Rodriguez of Eastwood and Abigail Barraza of El Paso Franklin had a close battle in the 800m which came down to a kick at the end.

Abigail Barraza has been tearing up the 800m scene this season so far and she was .88 seconds off her PR of 2:20.03 at the Jim Omohundro Invitational this past weekend. She was however, temporarily dethroned by one of Eastwood's top varsity girls. Adelynn Rodriguez managed to run her race and use a strong kick to bring in the 1st place gold. She also hit a PR of her season in the 800m with a time of 2:18.80.
