The 4A Region 3 girls have put up some strong performances across multiple events, with several athletes standing out in sprints, distance, hurdles, and field events.
In the 100m, Allanah Shepherd leads the region with an impressive 11.71, while Houston Yates' Madison Sweezer and Tyler Chapel Hill's Rylee Steele follow closely behind.
Aryssa Cooper of Chapel Hill has been a force in the 200m, running the fastest time at 24.78 and also holding the 4th-best mark. Manor New Tech's Maliya Curry has been a consistent presence in the event as well, ranking 2nd, 4th, and 6th.
Splendora's Sierra Jackson has dominated the 400m, posting the top three times, with her best at 57.53. She has also been strong in the long jump, ranking 3rd and 4th in the event.
In the 800m, Huffman Hargrave's Celeste Cantu owns the two fastest times, leading the field at 2:15.36, while Salado's Zoie Adcox has been consistent, securing three top-10 finishes.
Huffman Hargrave has also made an impact in the distance events. Cantu leads the 1600m, while her teammate Payton Miller holds the 2nd, 4th, and 7th-best times. In the 3200m, Adison Richard of Hamshire-Fannett tops the rankings at 11:29.09, followed closely by Giddings' Kaitlin Wilson, who has the 3rd and 4th-best performances.
China Spring's Janey Baker has been dominant in the hurdles, leading both the 100m and 300m hurdles with multiple top performances, including a best of 14.34 in the shorter race. Houston Yates' Madison Sweezer has also been a force, ranking 2nd and 5th in the 300m hurdles. Baker has also been a top contender in the high jump, tying for the region's best mark at 5-6 alongside Sealy's Ryanne Meyer.
Madisonville has been the team to beat in the sprint relays, leading the region with a 45.00 in the 4x100m and 1:38.39 in the 4x200m. Splendora has also been strong in relays, ranking 2nd in both the 4x100m and 4x400m, showing depth across multiple events. Gilmer has been in the mix as well, ranking in the top five across multiple relays, including a strong 4x400m squad that clocked 4:07.00.
In field events, Marble Falls' Kylie Roberts leads the shot put at 39-4 and also ranks 4th in the discus, where Bridge City's Whitney Cunningham holds the top mark at 110-10. In the long jump, Marble Falls' Madison Cuplin has the top leap at 18-7.25. Cuplin also leads the triple jump at 38-7.5.
Hudson's Natalie Murray has been the top vaulter in the region, clearing 12-6 to lead all competitors. She also holds the 2nd-best mark at 11-6, putting her in a strong position moving forward.
