The 4A Region 4 girls are putting up some of the fastest times and longest marks we've seen in years. With multiple athletes stacking top performances across different meets, the race to the top is shaping up to be highly competitive. Aubrey Navarro and Savanna Oberholtzer have been trading blows in the 100m and 200m all season. Navarro owns the fastest times in both events (11.87 / 24.46), but Oberholtzer isn't far behind at 11.99. Expect these two to go head-to-head at district, area, and beyond.  Kingsville King's Jellybean Kazanjian has also been a name to watch, sitting inside the top five in both events.

Unlike the sprints, where a few names have consistently led the pack, the 400m doesn't have a dominant force yet. Ayren Lightfoot holds the top time at 59.33, but five different athletes have broken 60 seconds this season. Emersen Cochran has also been impressive, posting multiple top times.

Hannah Hammer has a stranglehold on the 800m and 1600m. She owns four of the top five times in the mile and three of the top four in the 800m. If she keeps this up, she could be the runaway favorite come regionals. Unlike past years where a single runner dominated, the 3200m is stacked with talent from multiple schools. Rilyn Grona and Arianna Rivera are leading the way, but Cierra Garcia and Eva Zabarcencu are within striking distance.

If you're looking for a hurdles battle to keep an eye on, it's Eleanor Kazanjian vs. Logann Wood. Kazanjian has the top 100m hurdles time at 14.30 and a second mark inside the top 10. Wood has three of the top five marks in the event, proving that she's consistently fast across different meets. In the 300m hurdles, it's all about Aubrey Avey, but Wood isn't far behind with three marks inside the top five.

Shot put and discus have been dominated by Beeville Jones and Fredericksburg. Madison Wright leads the shot put at 40-6, while her teammate Reese Sagebiel is in the top 10 for both throws. Shelby Lewis leads the discus at 132-1 and ranks inside the top 10 in shot put as well. If these trends continue, expect Fredericksburg and Beeville Jones to rack up major points at the district and regional level. Trinity Acombe owns the top long jump mark by a significant margin at 18-9. In the triple jump, Rylie Wells leads at 36-4, but the top five are separated by less than a foot, setting up a highly competitive finish to the season.

Lago Vista's vault squad is deep. Three of their athletes--Abby Tristan, Lilah Smith, and Zoe Breitsprecher--have all cleared 11-0 or better. Breitsprecher leads at 11-6, but it looks like multiple vaulters could be clearing 12 feet before the season ends.

This isn't a year where one school dominates across the board--there are standout athletes at nearly every program, which makes Region 4 one of the most unpredictable in the state. From Navarro and Oberholtzer in the sprints to Hammer controlling the mid-distance and a deep distance field, every event has battles brewing. Who will peak at the right time? That's what we'll find out in the next few weeks.
